This Summer of Love tune is one of a mere handful of Monkees numbers to have been penned by Peter Tork. He co-wrote the cut with his concurrent housemate, Joey Richards, and the pair turned out such an affable number that "For Pete's Sake" kicked off side two of the Monkees ' third long-player, 's Headquarters.
